I was impressed at seeing the Milky Way from my house until I went back to Sitka for Christmas. You can see the Milky Way from the airport parking lot there. Bygones, however. I do take joy in what I can see from my house here. The moon has been incredible these few days past.

Light pollution over by jewel lake, even in the middle of the lake with no immediately adjacent lights, is so sever that it is difficult to see any but the brightest constellations.
